Young Men At The Haven Benefit From ORT America

January 17, 2007 (Boca Raton, Fla.) - The Haven continues to benefit from The South Palm Beach County Region of ORT America (Organization for Educational Resources and Technological Training) through its Adopt-A-Shelf campaign. Lauren Dean, development manager, accepted the donation on behalf of The Haven's young men.

"Adopt-A-Shelf is ORT America's outreach program into the community. The campaign supplies new books for home study and for recreational reading to the four cottages at The Haven," said Kay Freedman, chair of the campaign.

ORT America periodically donates a wide variety of new books, including titles on the schools' required reading lists, to the young men at The Haven. Their generosity allows for the young men to choose from a variety of books, from classic to educational and vocational subjects, for their reading enrichment.

"The kindness of ORT America helps our boys have increased access to a wide range of educational and recreational reading," said Dean. "Their Adopt-A-Shelf campaign is a great benefit to our community, and The Haven certainly appreciates their continued support."

ORT America has programs in more than 60 countries, providing marketable skills necessary to achieve productive lives and a positive self-esteem for economic security. For more information call 561-393-6254.
